Hospital horror leaves terrible choice

“Ms Clifton is planning to take legal action against Canberra Hospital, after the birth of her third child turned into a nightmare.Ms Clifton has told her story to The Canberra Times in the hope that it might spare other women from suffering similar problems at the hospital.”

Call to fund new path for patients

“ACT Health is reviewing the way it communicates with patients on the elective surgery waiting list after The Canberra Times revealed last week that a 75-year-old intellectually disabled man suspected of having prostate cancer had been waiting more than a year for an operation he had had been told he required within a fortnight.”

Fee Review for Access to Health Records (ACT)

“ACT Health is in the process of reviewing the fees charged in the ACT for access to health records. The review follows a report by the ACT GP Taskforce recommending legislative changes to the access of health records in the ACT.  During the discussion regarding the legislative changes the fees for access to health records received considerable attention prompting the current review of fees process. …the survey is open until 5pm 23 July 2010.”
